Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 May 2026

1. About SkipNow

SkipNow ("we", "us", "our") operates skipnow.co.uk, a price comparison and booking platform that connects consumers with EA-registered skip hire suppliers across the UK. By using this website or placing a booking through it, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

These terms were last updated on 3 May 2026 and are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

2. Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to two types of user:

  • Consumers — individuals or businesses searching for and booking skip hire services through the platform.
  • Suppliers — skip hire companies that list their services and prices on the platform.

Suppliers are also subject to our Supplier Agreement, which forms part of their registration. Where these terms and the Supplier Agreement conflict, the Supplier Agreement takes precedence for suppliers.

3. Our role as a marketplace

SkipNow is a marketplace intermediary. We connect consumers with suppliers but we are not a skip hire company and we do not provide skip hire services directly. The contract for the supply of skip hire services is between you (the consumer) and the supplier you book with.

We are responsible for the accuracy of information shown on our platform, but we are not responsible for the actions, omissions, or service quality of individual suppliers.

4. Using the platform

You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Attempt to circumvent our booking system to deal with suppliers outside the platform
  • Scrape, copy, or reproduce platform content without our written permission
  • Use automated tools to access or interact with the platform
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or its infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to any user who breaches these terms.

5. Bookings and payments

When you submit a booking request through SkipNow:

  • Your request is sent to the supplier, who has a defined window to confirm or decline it.
  • A booking is only confirmed once the supplier accepts it and you receive a confirmation email.
  • Payment is collected at the time of booking. Payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms of service.
  • Prices shown on the platform are as provided by suppliers. SkipNow takes a service fee from the supplier's payment; this does not affect the price you pay.

If a supplier declines your booking or it expires unconfirmed, you will receive a full refund. Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days depending on your card issuer.

6. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellation rights depend on the supplier's policy, which is displayed at checkout. The following defaults apply unless a supplier's policy states otherwise:

  • More than 48 hours before delivery: Full refund.
  • 24–48 hours before delivery: 50% refund.
  • Less than 24 hours before delivery: No refund.

To cancel a booking, contact us at support@skipnow.co.uk with your booking reference. We will coordinate with the supplier on your behalf.

If a supplier fails to deliver a skip at the agreed time, or delivers a skip that does not match what was booked, you are entitled to a full refund. Please report such issues within 48 hours of the scheduled delivery.

7. Your responsibilities as a consumer

When booking a skip, you are responsible for:

  • Ensuring you have permission to place the skip at the intended location. A permit is required for skips placed on a public road — your supplier can advise on this.
  • Ensuring access is clear and safe for delivery and collection vehicles.
  • Complying with any restrictions on what materials may be placed in the skip. Hazardous waste, including asbestos, tyres, and electrical items, must not be placed in a general skip.
  • Not overloading the skip beyond the fill line shown.

You may be charged additional fees by the supplier if any of the above conditions are not met.

8. Supplier listings and pricing

Prices displayed on SkipNow are provided by suppliers and may change without notice. We take reasonable steps to ensure prices are accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee that the price shown will always be available at the time of booking.

Suppliers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including skip sizes, service areas, and availability. SkipNow is not liable for errors or omissions in supplier-provided information.

9. Disputes between consumers and suppliers

If you have a dispute with a supplier about a booking, you should first attempt to resolve it directly with the supplier using the contact details provided in your confirmation email.

If you are unable to resolve the dispute, you may raise it with us at disputes@skipnow.co.uk. We will review the matter and may, at our discretion, facilitate a resolution or process a partial or full refund. Our decision is final in respect of any platform-level remedies.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK legislation.

10. Intellectual property

All content on the SkipNow platform — including text, logos, design, software, and data — is owned by or licensed to SkipNow and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any platform content without our prior written consent.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • SkipNow's total liability to you in connection with any booking shall not exceed the amount you paid for that booking.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic losses arising from your use of the platform or from a supplier's failure to perform.
  • We are not liable for loss or damage caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including supplier insolvency, extreme weather, or road closures.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify registered users by email where appropriate. Your continued use of the platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
